ABOUT OISPhO

The OIS Physics Olympiad is an academic competition designed to challenge students’ understanding of physics through rigorous problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and application of scientific concepts.

The Olympiad encourages students to move beyond textbook learning and apply theoretical knowledge to unfamiliar and complex scenarios.

Through carefully designed questions and discussions with examiners, OISPhO aims to promote scientific curiosity, logical reasoning, and innovation in physics. Students will engage with advanced physics problems similar to those seen in international academic competitions and research environments.

The Olympiad provides an opportunity for students to:
    •    Develop higher-order thinking and analytical skills
    •    Apply physics concepts in unfamiliar real-world situations
    •    Compete with peers who share a passion for science
    •    Gain experience in academic competitions and scientific dialogue
